Very often we write texts with human reading or interpretation in mind. A few actors or performers who embody what we have written before. But: Have you ever thought of what a casting of machine-generated voices would look like? How is this text written? How do these voices read it? What phonetic possibilities do they have? The growing range of free-to-use synthetic voices on the Internet makes it easy to caste enough to find the voice best suited to each text. Through the works of artists such as Jaume Ferrete and Jaha Koo you will be able to see different expressive and dramatic resources to construct an original text that is in line with a non-human interpretation.

Exercise
You are invited to create a dialog to be read by machines. During this process, you can experiment with different resources (punctuation marks, phonetic writing, writing hacking) to bring the reading experience closer to human speech.

Examples
Tu padre está hablando con la voz de mi padre - Jaume Ferrete (2016)
Cukoo - Jaha Koo (2022, Katharsis - trailer)
