and audiodescription

The Teatre Lliure traces a production of the Piccolo Teatro of Milan on the disappeared of dictatorship, this time comparing those of the Francoism and those of Vidula’s Argentina, written and directed by Davide Carnevali.

How to return the voice to the one who has been reduced to silence? How do we represent an absent body on stage? Between historical research and police research, Davide Carnevali builds a game of literary and musical variations that asks us about how we reread the past and write history. The text -already edited in Italy by Einaudi- premiered at the Munich Biennale in Bavaria and at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin in 2018, and will go back in a new version also in French at the Comédie de Caen, the Reims Comedy and the Théâtre de Liège, co-producers of the project, this season 23/24. A dramaturgy built from the memory of people and places, designed to be adapted each time to the biography of the performer and in the city where it is performed. The portrait of an artist is thus transformed into a reflection on the barbarity of the fascisms that have passed through globally in the twentieth century. And that still today could, dangerously, reappear.
