Description
Israel Solà, the director of the company La Calòrica, is taking the reins of the IT Teatre Lliure 2026: a special project for a special moment.
The graduates of the Institut del Teatre, with Solà at the helm, will approach the figure of the great actress, producer and theater educator Margarida Xirgu to rediscover her artistic legacy in today’s performers. An advanced artist for her time and a crucial personality in the history of Catalan theatre, whose name graces sites such as the square in front of the Teatre Lliure on Montjuïc.
On our anniversary, the project’s participants will include Muntsa Alcañiz, an actress, teacher at the Institut del Teatre and founding member of the Teatre Lliure.
The show will tour around towns in the Barcelona area as part of the Reverberacions IT Teatre Lliure project.
Project promoted by the Teatre Lliure, the Institut del Teatre and the Àrea de Cultura of the Diputació de Barcelona.
