La Calòrica was established in 2010 by a group of artists who wanted to do theatre in spite of the economic crisis, and has engaged in political reflection and used a sense of humour in its shows. They include L’Editto Bulgaro (2012), La nave de los necios (2013), Bluf (2014), Sobre el fenomen de les feines de merda (2015), El Profeta (2016), FairFly (2017, 2 Max Prizes, the Butaca Prize and the Critics' Prize) and Els ocells (2018).
