Teatre Lliure is part of the Creative Europe programme in the Unlock the City! which is being developed in six different countries (Belgium, the Czech Republic, Italy, Norway, Romania and the Spain). It has an alliance of four theatrical institutions with a strong international vocation (the Toneelhuis Foundation, the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, the Teatrul Tineretului in Bucharest and the Lliure), two universities specialized in scenic design and another in urbanism and landscape study. As in the city model he aspires to, Unlock the City! is an open project which, by means of a replicable method and the formulation of concrete proposals for action, wishes to contribute to the policies of the Green Deal of the European Union.
To realize the project, an international network has been created -which has the close collaboration of artists, managers and theater directors, students, university professors and experts from different disciplinary fields- that will develop it during thirty months, until 2025. Teatre Lliure will work with Anna Puigjaner and Alexandra Laudo to conceptualize and produce the three theatrical proposals to be performed in Spain. It is a bet by two people with a hybrid profile between academia and the world of the arts.
