The Màster de Construcció i Representació d’Identitats Culturals (CRIC), the Research group Contemporary British Theatre Barcelona and the Teatre Lliure celebrate the second edition of the awards for the best TFG and TFM of contemporary theatre studios.

With the aim of promoting research in the field of contemporary theatre studies, the Màster de Construcció i Representació d’Identitats Culturals (CRIC), the Research group consolidates Contemporary British Theatre Barcelona – both belonging to the Facultat de Filologia i Comunicació – and the Teatre Lliure launched the 20/21 season two initiatives aimed at awarding the best research carried out by students of degree and master, which materialized in the call for two awards that recognize and encourage research in the field of contemporary theatre. This year, the call has been extended to works written by students from all over the UB and its affiliated centres.

The awards ceremony for the Best Final Degree Work (TFG) and the Best Final Master Work (TFM) will be included in the academic opening ceremony of the CRIC Master which will consist of three parts:

1. "Hunch. Methodology of the invisible", plenary conference by Marta Pazos, one of the most important creators of the State’s avant-garde stage and who presented Viaje a la Luna in 2021 in the Gràcia stage.
Pazos will share with attendees the study she has done on the impact that her sociocultural context has provoked in her work in a relationship of background-figure and on the importance of the relational context in the construction of her artistic identity. Pazos has developed for twenty-five years a methodology based on the legitimization of intuition, the weighting of care of life, the connection with legacy and the deregulation in the dialogue of materials and creative teams.

2. Award ceremony to:

  • Nil Martin López to the best TFG with Un altre ara, un altre aquí: Presencialitats especulatives en les arts vives (Grau de Comunicació i Indústries Culturals)
  • Oriol López Esteve to the best TFM with Flexionar la diferència sexual amb els cossos: Escriptura i cos textual en la dansa (Màster CRIC).

3. Presentation of the book Understanding Precarious Life: Empathy for the Criminal in "Pornography and The Events", by Carolina González Terrés, winner of the first edition of the award for best TFM, published by Edicions UB.

Organized with the support of the Facultat de Filologia i Comunicació, the Vice-rectorat de Recerca de la Universitat de Barcelona and the Fundació Teatre Lliure - Teatre Públic de Barcelona, and with the collaboration of ADHUC-Centre de Recerca Teoria, Gènere, Sexualitat.
