MENTIDERA TEATRE - PRODUCCIONS DE FERRO
GRÀCIA from march 2 to 6
After the high success get with Lúcid two saisons ago at the Sala Beckett, Spregelburd and La Mentidera serve now in Catalan a play first performed at the Schaubühne Studio. What happens when the people of a place decide to call themselves by one name, granting themselves an identity and sticking to it? A simple yet pompous play concerning all.
IV Quim Masó Prize in Theatrical Production Projects (2010)
"Spregelburd observes nature and becomes interested, like his fellow countryman Javier Daulte, in physics, mathematics and geometry in order to understand the mechanisms that determine human behaviour." (Begoña Barrena, El País)
"[With Lúcid] Rafael Spregelburd moves into the centre of dramatic production of our time, a place far removed from every other, and rediscovers some of the most authentic qualities of comedy." (José Antonio Aguado, Diari de Terrassa)
"Rafael Spregelburd is one of the most important authors and directors in the contemporary Argentinean theatre. An artist in the dramatic and renaissance sense of the word, who combines a facility for playfulness and a capacity for abstraction without ever renouncing theatricality." (Santi Fondevila, El Periódico)
